The Spotted Ones Stay the Night!

Magnum P.I. is my name and chasing ball is my game. My gal pal, Phoebe, well she’d chase just about anything that moves! Momma usually says STAY but not this time! We spent a lot of time in and out of the car on Saturday while momma attended a funeral for a friend, we didn't mind as long as we’re with momma! We met “the Bump”, a boy, who spent the rest of the weekend with us whenever we went on pp walks. We spent our first night in a “dog friendly” hotel in Monterey, where there was a fire on the wall and tons of smelly stuff to smell!

The next day was one of the best days of our lives! Momma took us to the BEACH in Carmel, she was worried about Phoebe because she is a rescue and a little wild. She doesn’t always come when she is called so she stayed on the leash but since I’m older and wiser she let me run free. That’s the cool thing about this beach! I met other dogs too! Old dogs and pups, tall and curly, short and shaggy, brown and black and all white dogs! I didn’t know there were that many dogs in the whole world! WOOF! This place must be heaven because I found a ball just floating in the water and no one minded when momma threw it for me. I showed off for my girl and mama, I went right into the water and brought it back to momma, without a life jacket on! Phoebe of course, having never really gone in the ocean, drank as much of it as she could even if mama was saying no. I don’t think she was feeling very good later. I don’t think she will do that again!

Mama’s friend turned to her and said, “I think you have found your people!”. Mama loves all us doggies!

We left the beach and went into the main part of town, where we found a doggy water fountain! Phoebe drank a lot! Momma and her friends ate salad and snails, yuck! We sat near her and made googolly eyes at all the other doggies sitting by their Mommies and Daddies eating. This was a really interesting place and good food smelling!

Little Phoebe had a good scare on the way home that momma said I should share. Everyone was so tired, we got to ride in the back seat instead of in the back. Phoebe had her head out the window to say hi to some doggies on the street and stepped on the window button. Suddenly she was scared and frantically trying to get her head out, but she did…at some point during the trip the ‘LOCK’ button got bumped. It scared mama a lot and Phoebe wouldn’t go near the window again, she sat in the middle of the seat the rest of the way home. Summer is coming up we want to remind everyone to check those buttons! And if you can get a seatbelt on your furry friends, it is probably a really good idea!

What an AMAZING place this is!!!

WOOOOOOOF!, We had soooooo much fun! We stayed way too short a time but Momma promised we would come back and stay all day for 2 days! And that the whole trip would just be for us!
